Timekeeper-Full Time

Parker Jewish Institute is seeking a Timekeeper to join the Nursing-Clinical Operations team in a full-time capacity.


The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, conveniently located on the Queens-Nassau County border in New Hyde Park, New York, is a non-profit health care facility that offers short term rehabilitation, sub-acute care and nursing home care, as well as community-based health care' encompassing adult day health care, home health care, and a hospice program that serves terminally ill patients in their own homes or in nursing facilities, including Parker's nursing home.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Staffing Coordinator, the Timekeeper performs all functions and duties related to time, attendance and payroll of all nursing staff.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Daily maintenance of electronic timekeeping system
  • Records absences and schedule changes of nursing staff
  • Runs reports of daily employee punches and attendance
  • Analyzes trends and corrects errors in employee punches and timekeeping
  • Assists Staffing Coordinator in maintaining schedules for nursing department for all shifts
  • Works with staff in obtaining documentation for absences
  • Works on any scheduling changes with staff, as needed

Position Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Timekeeping or electronic Payroll experience  
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Working knowledge of ADP, Kronos or SmartLinx
  • Microsoft Excel proficient
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Scheduling experience a plus
  • Prior work experience in a large facility with multiple shifts preferred
