The Parker Jewish Institute, located in New Hyde Park, NY, is seeking a Per Diem Pharmacy Student Intern to join our team of professionals in the Pharmacy department.

Position Overview:

  • Prepares, measures, weigh or compounds medication as per state Board of Pharmacy regulations for patient use under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist Provides general assistance to the Pharmacist
  • Prepackaging medication orders
  • Process drug inventory and stock
  • Responsible for the preparation of I.V. admixtures, extemporaneous parenteral products, sterile products under aseptic conditions
  • Responsible for computer data entry of medication, patient, medical information into the pharmacy computer system
  • Delivers medication from Pharmacy to nursing units and clinics
  • Effectively participates in the clinical services provide by the department
  • Meets administrative and miscellaneous requirements of the department
  • Works with automated dispensing machines


Position Qualifications: 

  • Current Pharmacy Intern permit
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited Pharm D program
