Facility Greeter-Part Time-Days

The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation is seeking a part-time Greeter to provide outstanding customer service and create a welcoming environment for the residents and family members who arrive at the facility.

The Parker Jewish Institute for Health Care and Rehabilitation, conveniently located on the Queens-Nassau County border in New Hyde Park, New York, is a non-profit health care facility that offers short term rehabilitation, sub-acute care and nursing home care, as well as community-based health care' encompassing adult day health care, home health care, and a hospice program that serves terminally ill patients in their own homes or in nursing facilities, including Parker's nursing home.

Position Overview:

  • Welcome all visitors and guests to Parker Jewish Institute
  • Meet new admissions and their families as they enter the premises
  • Provide assistance to those individuals as they exit or enter their vehicles, including opening doors
  • Make independent evaluations of issues as they arise
  • Assist clinical staff, as needed, who are transporting patients/residents to outside vehicles
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
  • Check in with Security and reception desk staff for any issues that need attention

Position Qualifications:

  • Able to stand on feet for extended periods of time
  • Able to interact with diverse personalities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Pleasant and professional appearance and demeanor
  • Prior Customer Service experience strongly preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED
